What changes are on the way?
by insearchoftruth ini was listening to the co talk to my wife’s congregation on sunday and pretty much the complete talk was justifying doctrinal and organizational changes and pretty much preparing the ‘rank and file’ for upcoming changes.
anyone on hear have any insight of what ‘new light’ is coming in the future?.

For me, I wouldn’t want to have 666 on any of my properties. Each to their own!
you cannot be serious ?

Fawlty Towers (1975) & (1979) - still laugh-out-loud funny after all these years
by LoveUniHateExams inso, i went and bought series one and series two on second hand dvd for one pound each.. i first saw series one of fawlty towers when i was about 11, then i saw series two a year later.. it's a little dated now, but that doesn't really matter because it's still making people laugh.
that's all comedy is.. there is one episode - the kipper and the corpse - which i think is a bit rough around the edges, it's not as polished as some of the other episodes.
but it still has some great lines in it, e.g.. the two old ladies: you're in a good mood today, mr fawlty.. basil: yes, well one of the guests has just died.

On the current migrant crisis
by LoveUniHateExams inthousands of migrants have come to england this year, already beating last year's total.. some may have fled syria and other war-torn countries; others are economic migrants.. let me try to get my head around this phenomenon: migrants are relatively safe in france and other countries.
they then leave the relative safety of continental europe and risk their lives and that of their children by crossing the english channel in rubber dinghies.
there's just no fixing stupid, is there .

Simon--
"And FYI: obvious trolls get deleted, you should know that by now. If you think there is some "issue" to be made about me deleting a poster who obviously has zero intent in genuinely taking part in any proper discussion then I don't think this is the right site for you"
hang on--i only glanced through the guys postings--didnt seem at all like a troll to me--i even replied--which got deleted too. I had NO issue with you deleting it all--i just didnt know what had gone on in the intervening period!

the reason i asked if the wife was also an ex jw, is---if she never was--it would be much simpler if she lays down the rules with mother....

can you remember the last big assembly you went to ? By big--i mean bigger than a circuit job--so--district ? Whole country at a stadium thing.
My last one was old Wembley stadium UK..about 1969 ? 70? I was in my early 20's--with my newish wife. It rained all the time--and i had to sit for hours to please the wife.
i had been to others--Twickers ..Murrayfield--but i was a single teenager then--went with other lads i knew--so no sitting for sessions involved. So sitting trying to look interested was a new and very bad idea. I vowed i would never go to another--and i kept my word.
What was yours ?

economic migrants--really ? They must have paid a fortune to some gang to get them as far as the UK coast..and for what ? Benefits ? what benefits ? I think the majority were wealthy--or from wealthy families--trying to get away from probable certain death in their war ravaged country.
